This report shares key insights from BSSEC’s Social Economy Roundtable on social procurement and the social economy, bringing together commissioners, procurement specialists, local authorities and social economy organisations from across the West Midlands.

The discussion explored how the procurement ecosystem can better support social economy organisations to access public and private sector contract opportunities, particularly in light of the new Procurement Act 2023.

It highlights opportunities around social value, contract readiness, collaboration, consortia working and strategic approaches to procurement that can help strengthen sector growth and participation in supply chains.
