BSSEC CIC is a social enterprise, sector-led organisation working across key stakeholders, partners and operating businesses, all of whom have an interest in the regional social economy.
We provide an annual CIC34 report to the CIC Regulator along with submitting our annual financial accounts. Data is retained and maintained in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.
DATA
HOW WE COLLECT & USE YOUR DATA
When you register to attend a BSSEC CIC event, BSSEC CIC will communicate with you via email and hold your email address for this purpose only. We will not share your data with any third party without your written (emailed) consent. We will ask you if you would like us to contact you by email for other purposes such as receiving our news updates.
Our website has an online form for general enquiries and one for news subscribers, both provide clear information about opting-in for cookies and link to this web-based Privacy information page.
Contact lists for news updates, subscribers, members and events are held securely and accessed confidentially by BSSEC Directors only. We only hold essential information such as name, role, organisation and email, and provide clear information for those wishing to unsubscribe which is actioned within 48 working hours of an ‘unsubscribe request’ being received.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
The relevant legal bases are set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679) and in current UK data protection legislation and by adhering to UK data protection laws, we only use your data for the purpose that it is given, or for a reasonable ‘legal basis’.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
BSSEC CIC will keep your data (namely email) unless we receive a written request to remove your data or we receive email notifications that your provided email address in ‘undeliverable’. We will delete your data within 48 working hours of receiving a written request to do so and send you a final confirmation email of action taken.
WE CARE ABOUT YOUR DATA
We do not share your data with third parties without your express consent – see Legitimate Interests and Legal Obligation above. We hold your data on secure, encypted laptop with appropriate online security protection.
WITHDRAWING DATA CONSENT
