Urgent — Ex-school/nursery furniture free of charge for third sector organisations

Alison Lawson at social enterprise rePC has a range of furniture and other items suitable for 0-9 year-olds which it is offering free of charge to third sector organisations on a first come, first served basis.

These items come from a recent school clearance.

You must be able to collect or pay a nominal delivery fee.

There is an urgent deadline to this — the storage site must be cleared by 11th November.

Update: I’m afraid all of this stuff has gone to good homes! This morning I received the following email from Alison:

I’m really pleased to say that thanks to your help we have now distributed all the children’s classroom furniture to a range of mother and toddler groups, play groups, Sunday school groups, crèches, community centres and child minders across the Black Country and Birmingham. To date we have given away (free of charge) over 420 child height table and chairs, 230 toys and games, 178 books and 15 pieces of equipment.

A big thank you to all those who responded so quickly.

    Hi Alison Lawson,
We would be very interested in any furniture or equipment you are giving away free, We are a community interest company and are trying to build up our equipment for St Peters Pre School CIC. We are very short of play equipment for children aged 2-5yrs old, and any movable furniture for nursery settings. We operate Tuesday to Friday mornings from 08.15-12.30 pm and have to set up and clear away after the sessions, as we share a communal church hall. If we are not to late to apply for the furniture and equipment, I hope we can be considered.
    Yours Sincerely
    Sue Quigley
    St Peters Pre School CIC.
