I’m delighted to say that further to this post (in which I was moaning that too few Birmingham social enterprises were getting themselves in the RBS SE Index), the finalists for the RBS social enterprise 100 awards 2013 have just been announced (download press release here) — and in the Trailblazing Newcomer category, three out of six finalists are from Birmingham.
The Brum finalists, in addition to our own Dave Lane’s Development in Social Enterprise CIC, are Bidgley Power Foundation and the John Taylor Hospice.
A specialist business support provider, a community empowerment organisation that brings together young, old and disabled, and the only social enterprise hospice in the UK. Never mind a showcase for Birmingham — this is a showcase of the diversity and determination of the social enterprise sector.
We wish all the finalists well, in whatever category they have been listed.
It’s enough to make you want to…complete our social enterprise survey! Which fortunately is right here. (C’mon, a hook is a hook — the first law of blogging.)
Thanks Alun,
We’re really pleased (at Development in Social Enterprise) to have made it onto the shortlist and think this is an achievement in itself. To have three Birmingham organisations shortlisted is something special.
We would also like to extend our best wishes to all those who have been nominated too, whoever wins I’m sure will thoroughly deserve it!
Ps Have completed the survey!
“PS Have completed the survey!” That’s what I really like to hear….
