‘Social justice for all’ — impact of the new legal aid changes

The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment Offenders Act received Royal Assent in April 2012. This Act has huge implications for disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Birmingham and the region.

On the 19th September 2012 from 6.30pm – 9.30pm, the Lunar Society, Birmingham Law Society, Birmingham Law Centre, Birmingham CAB and Birmingham Women’s Aid, with the support of Barrow Cadbury Trust, are holding a briefing workshop on the impact of the Act and the legal aid changes that affect those most vulnerable in society  (£5 members/£10 non-members).

In Birmingham alone it is estimated that nearly 7,000 people a year will not now be able to get legal advice through Legal Aid.

See booking form/flyer for contacts, booking arrangements and full details.
