SEUK has just launched its news online directory, Buy Social.
The Directory has been created by Social Enterprise UK in partnership with the Cabinet Office, City of London Corporation and Aspire Group.
The Directory is clearly slanted towards helping more social enterprises do business with private sector supply-chains and public sector commissioners. With over 10,000 records, it is intended to be the largest of its kind and will be widely marketed to private businesses and public commissioners to help social enterprises win more business.
In this sense, Buy Social is very much a national version of Birmingham’s Shop for Change directory, developed by iSE. This too arose from a recognition that social enterprises need to get in front of more customers if they want to increase their business and especially if they want to diversify their customer-base, and that there was a rationale for doing this with a directory at the local level.
Registration in Buy Social is free and SEUK is currently in the process of sending automated alerts out to all social enterprises known to the organisation.
If you haven’t received an email but want to register — and why wouldn’t you: it’s free — then send mail to the Buy Social team.
