The ‘Social Enterprise Zone’ – Digbeth

The Digbeth area of Birmingham is a social enterprise Zone with over 20 thriving social enterprises.

On Thursday 17th February 2011, I along with a number of start up social enterprises, visited Health Exchange CIC, 50fifty/Made By Young People CIC and Change Kitchen CIC.

The background and development of the organisations and individuals behind these amazing businesses are truly inspirational. This was our second in a series of walking tours of the area we are organising to provide an opportunity for budding and existing social entrepreneurs to meet the people involved so they can share best practice and even inter trade!

7 people signed up for the second social enterprise tour of Digbeth, including Jessica Morgan from Rugby Art Gallery & Museum. ‘I came to get a general idea about social enterprise in this areas and I cam away very enthusiastic, informed and excited about a potential link for inter trading!’

To find out more about its Social Enterprise Walking Tours, or to book, check iSE’s website or call 0121 771 1411.

The next social enterprise walking tour is on the 24th March 2011.
