Lakeside Nursery in Erdington embraced the spirit of Comic Relief by hosting a pyjama party for youngsters and staff – raising more than £100 for charity in the process.
But there was little danger of the tots nodding off in their nightwear, with home-baked cakes, hot chocolate, cookies and, of course, red noses all adding to the fun on the day.
It all took place at Lakeside Children’s and Family Learning Centre, in Wyrley Birch, run by social enterprise Enta. The pyjama theme was selected to fit in with this year’s ‘Do Something Funny for Money’ Comic Relief theme.
Natalie Cox, nursery manager at the Lakes Road centre said: “Comic Relief is always a fun event and we wanted to celebrate it in style. But it wasn’t just for the children, all the Enta staff were involved too so it was really enjoyable.
“It’s also important to remember the serious side to Comic Relief and it was good to raise so much money to help this year’s total.”
Lakeside nursery is run by Enta CIC, a Birmingham based social enterprise that provides real life chances for local people and transforms communities.
