Govt launches new fund to encourage local authorities to transform and mutualise services

The Cabinet Office and the Dept for Communities and Local Government have just announced the launch of a £1m fund aimed at encouraging local authorities to transform services through the use of new delivery vehicles, including third sector delivery or mutualisation.

The fund will offer 10 successful local authority applicants up to £100,000 each to transform a particular service.

Delivering Differently is a joint programme between the Cabinet Office, the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE).

To apply, local authorities must submit an Expression of Interest form by 10th February 2014.
