The Cabinet Office has just announced that the the BIG Fund — the non-lottery arm of the BIG Lottery — has been chosen to distribute monies from the £100m ‘transition fund’ announced in the spending review.

Full eligibility criteria yet to be announced but the fund is likely to open to applications by the end of this month. However, there is already an email link from the Cabinet Office page to which organisations can express interest in bidding to the fund.
While information regarding the fund is still scarce it’s fairly evident that its main aim will be to help frontline delivery organisations hardest hit by public spending cuts retain staffing levels and delivery capacity until things improve.
