Launch of the Digbeth Social Enterprise Quarter

The Digbeth Social Enterprise Quarter, launched on Thursday 12th December 2013, marks an exciting new phase in the support and development of social enterprise in Birmingham.

Over fifty social enterprises are based in Digbeth/Highgate and these social and cultural entrepreneurs  are giving a new lease of life to Birmingham’s oldest industrial area.

The Digbeth Social Enterprise Quarter is being set up to help raise the profile of social enterprise and offer a focus for social enterprise-led regeneration and development in the area. It is hoped that in the future the initiative may also attract European funding.

The  Quarter has already received official recognition from Social Enterprise UK, the national body that is awarding ‘social enterprise place’ status as part of its national project.
